Description: While many ponds in this area are crowded with houses and cottages, Lake Megunticook retains areas of undeveloped shoreline prized by many and unalterable by few. Thanks to a generous land donation by Gordon Bok, the McPheters Preserve will keep 2,000 feet of Megunticook' s shoreline in its natural state forever. In addition to the water frontage, this Preserve protects a knoll of magnificent white pines and eastern hemlocks.
