SUMMARY:Volunteer Blueberry Raking for Local Food Pantries
DESCRIPTION:Now that ourweek of community free picks have wrapped up\, we’re looking for some helpraking through the remaining berries in the fields at Beech Hill! Raked berrieswill be winnowed and packed in our Blueberry Barn\, which is located in the mainparking lot of the preserve. Berries will then be frozen and distributed to anumber of food pantries in the local area.  \nRaking sessions will be held Tuesday\, July 30th and Wednesday\, July 31st from 8:30am-12:30pm. \nIn pastyears we have been able to provide close to 150 pounds of berries perseason to those who need them! With your help we can do so again this year. \nFor yourefforts we’d be happy to send you home with some winnowed and packed berriesfor yourselves as well. Contact maevec@coastalmountains.org if you’d be interested inparticipating in either of the gleaning sessions. \nWe’llprovide the rakes and kids are welcome to participate!
