SUMMARY:Happy Wanderers Hike at Appleton Preserve (GRLT)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hike along the Appleton Preserve\, owned and maintained by our friends at Georges River Land Trust (GRLT). All are welcome!\nThe hike will cover approximately 2 miles of level ground along the St. George river.\nRegister HERE\nHappy Wanderers hikes are held monthly in collaboration with Maine Health’s Community Health program. Each hike explores a different trail in Knox or Waldo County. Everyone is welcome!\nDirections: From the intersection of Routes 131 and 105 in Appleton\, go east on Route 105 for ½ mile. Parking is available at the ME Inland Fisheries & Wildlife gravel lot on the right\, just before the bridge across the Georges River. Please do not park in the Blue Crow Studio driveway or use it as a turnaround.

DESCRIPTION:Coastal Mountains Land Trust invites you to another Wednesday Waldo Walk! Coastal Mountains volunteer and Waldo County resident Bindy Pendleton will lead a hike at the Little River Trail in Belfast on Wednesday\, April 9 at 10:00 a.m.\nAll are welcome! This hike will cover one to four miles of the Little River Trail\, with options for hikers to loop back early or walk additional segments. There is elevation in some spots. Good boots and plenty of drinking water are recommended.\nDirections: We will meet at the trailhead located on Route 1. Coming South from Belfast\, there is a parking lot on the right side of the road just before the bridge.\nEmail info@coastalmountains.org   to register.

DESCRIPTION:Do you want to help care for the natural places within our community? Are you passionate about helping people connect to the outdoors? Coastal Mountains Land Trust is seeking new volunteers to help with a wide range of projects including maintaining trails and repairing bridges with our stewardship team\, assisting educators in outdoor classrooms as part of our Learning Landscapes program\, and helping with community events and office mailings. All skills are welcomed and wanted! \nAnyone who is interested in learning more is invited to an informational session on April 17 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at the Land Trust’s office at 101 Mount Battie Street in Camden. \nAt the gathering\, Land Trust staff\, along with active volunteers\, will provide an overview of the Land Trust’s conservation programs as well as a summary of the volunteer positions that the Land Trust is seeking to fill.Please email info@coastalmountains.org if you plan to attend!
