There are some big changes happening on the McLellan-Poor Preserve in Northport! We are in the process of installing a bridge across Ramsey Brook. On Sunday morning we had 23 brave, strong souls and a snowmobile haul the 36 foot, 500 pound aluminum bridge through the McLellan-Poor Preserve! The bridge is now patiently waiting in the woods for the spring thaw so we can put it in place over the water. Come summer, you should have a dry, safe crossing across the Brook which will allow for a seamless hiking trail between the Herrick Road trail head and Route 1.Thank you so much to Rockport Steel for providing and delivering the bridge and to volunteers from the Lincolnville Snowmobile Club, Bank of America, and Land Trust members for coming out to help with this unprecedented project. We're off to a good start!
