BECOME A MEMBER
As a member of Coastal Mountains Land Trust, you join a dedicated community of over 1,250 people helping to conserve and care for special places from Rockport to Prospect.
Become an Evergreen Donor:
At the amount and interval of your choice (semi-annually, quarterly, monthly, or weekly), a donation will be automatically charged to your credit card or withdrawn directly from your bank account. This can be set up with our online giving program. We will send you an annual donation report for your tax records in December.
Give a Gift Membership
Your friend or family member will receive a welcome packet of membership materials. This makes a great holiday, anniversary or birthday gift for someone who is passionate about conservation or is interested in learning more about it!
Every donation is important support for our mission and qualifies you as a member. We write to our members twice a year: in the fall with our Annual Appeal and again in the spring when we send a membership renewal letter. While we don’t expect every member to donate twice a year, we will mail to everyone as an important way to stay in touch. Membership donations fund the core services of land protection and stewardship including legal fees, appraisals, surveys, property taxes, insurance, and basic administrative costs.
CURRENT PROJECT / SUPPORT A CAMPAIGN
Round the Mountain Collaboration
Fundraising Goal: $4.2 million
The Round the Mountain Collaboration will permanently conserve open space and critical wildlife habitat on and around Ragged Mountain, while also securing and expanding two benefits essential to the community: pure drinking water and opportunities for healthy outdoor recreation.
We will accomplish this by: 1) permanently conserving 1,400 acres of watershed land surrounding Mirror Lake and Grassy Pond that are sources of drinking water for six coastal communities; and 2) designing, building, and stewarding the Round the Mountain Trail, a nine-mile trail system providing four-season opportunities to explore Ragged Mountain on foot, skis, snowshoes, or bike.
To fullfill this ambitious vision, Coastal Mountains Land Trust and Maine Coast Herritage Trust will raise $4.2 million to purchase two conservation easements that will protect Maine Water Company's land around Mirror Lake, Ragged Mountain, Grassy Pond, and Spruce Mountain.
Feature your company's commitment to conservation or celebrate someone you love by naming a trail after your business, family or in memory of someone special. Your sponsorship will be recognized at the trailhead kiosk and will be noted on the Preserve Guide that illustrates 'your' specific trail.
Support for this program is an annual donation of $1,000 for a minimum of three years.
Please contact our Development Director at (207) 236-7091 for information about which trails are available for adoption.
GIFTS OF LAND
Receiving a conservation easement or a gift of land is at the heart of our work. We are deeply grateful to all landowners who choose to conserve their land. If you are interested in conserving your land, please call the Executive Director at 207-236-7091 to begin the discussion.
We offer two opportunities to recognize family and friends, or to advertise your business, while also sustaining our conservation work.
For a one-time donation of $5,000 we will place a rustic stone bench, engraved with a short line of text, at a select location at one of our Preserves.
Limited benches will be placed and are not available on every Preserve. Available bench locations on our Preserves throughout our service region are shown on the interactive map below. There are currently benches on Beech Hill, Bald Mountain, and Head of Tide Preserves. Please contact the Development Director at 236-7091 about either of these tribute options.
