Mt. Tuck Conservation Project
Mt. Tuck Conservation Project Update
Since securing a 99-acre summit parcel of Mt. Tuck in June of 2019, Coastal Mountains Land Trust has continued to actively work in Prospect and Stockton Springs to explore additional conservation opportunities on and around this mountain to connect together the more than 1,150 acres currently conserved in this area.
The Land Trust’s Board of Directors voted in March to officially prioritize the Mt. Tuck Conservation Focus Area (see right). Altogether, the Mt. Tuck Focus Area provides a long-term opportunity to protect a 2,800-acre undeveloped block of habitat, well-suited for public recreation, in close proximity to Route 1 and the Penobscot Narrows bridge.
