Happy Wanderers: Fernalds Neck Preserve

Join Coastal Mountains Land Trust and Maine Health’sCommunity Health program for a Happy Wanderers Hike at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday,November 6, at the Fernald’s Neck Preserve in Lincolnville.

All are welcome!  This is a moderate 2 to 3.5-mile loop which includes hemlock groves, glacial erratics, stands of maturepines, a plethora of mushroom species, and views of Megunticooklake.   Hiking footwear and plenty of water are encouraged.

Bring/wear: hiking footwear, water,sunscreen, tick protection, and binoculars, if you would like.  

Hunting is not permitted on this preserve, but we still recommendwearing orange!

Directions: From Lincolnville Center, take Rt.52 south for 2 miles, then turn right onto Fernald’s Neck road. Follow thisroad to its end, staying left at the fork.  From Camden, take Rt.52/Mountain Street north for 5.8 miles, turning left onto Fernald’s NeckRoad.  Please drive slowly and use the parking lot, so there aren’t anyvehicles parked along the road.
